Fujifilm today announced the release of the FinePix S9600, replacement to the critically acclaimed FinePix S9500 and the new flagship in Fujifilm’s range of ‘prosumer’ digital cameras. The new model features carefully considered modifications designed to improve image quality as well as making it easier to use and better performing in low light. Refinements include increased image sharpness, a more generous LCD screen, faster autofocus in low light and improvements to the camera’s flash capability. These features combine with existing Fujifilm technologies to result in user-friendliness more usually associated with compact digital cameras, and a performance to challenge entry-level digital SLRs.
An incredibly versatile camera designed for serious hobbyist and enthusiast photographers, the nine megapixel FinePix S9600 features Fujifilm’s successful Super CCD HR sensor and Real Photo Processor II, delivering IS0 1600 performance and enabling capture of crisp and clear images even in low light conditions.

Well just received my S9100 today. I have a S7000 and love it. The S9100 is impressive in many ways and has a good feel in my hand and the great features I like in the 7000 and more. Sadly however the S9100 focuses worse than the 7000 and makes a sick sounding low pitched clicking noise when attempting to focus. The focusing is unuseable for critical applications such as weddings. Very dissapointed, should have bought a 9000. No mention in the manual about i-flash. Why tout a feature like that and not mention it in the book? S7000 and 9000 owners sleep easy you have missed nothing sad to say

I dont agree with Scott in the least.. I fine the focusing to be spot on.. I ahve already started using my S9011 for Sr portraits and an engagement session.. I cant wait to use it for a wedding.. several model head shots.. Internal flash is useless but I use a handle mount and studio lights with very good success.

I find that his is quite a good little rig.. I was hoping to just have it to back up my Nikon for weddings, but with the success I have had I may use it and use the Nikon for back up.

It’s pretty noisy at higher ISO’s but then film gets grainy too so…. I shoot at ISO 200 and below…

    Good all around tool.
