Pre-announced at PMA 2008 in February, Pentax now launches the DA 17-70mm f/4 AL SDM lens, featuring a 4.1x zoom ratio covering wide-angle to moderate-telephoto ranges, and covers a focal-length range from 26mm wide angle to 107mm telephoto in 35mm format. The lens is compatible with the K20D, K200D, K100D Super and K10D and later Pentax dSLR cameras. According to the Pentax Lens Roadmap we may assume that the launch of the larger member of the family. the DA 60-250mm f/4 ED SDM, is imminent too…


Pentax Imaging Co. has today announced its latest waterproof digital camera, following in the footsteps of 2007’s Optio W30 model.
The new Pentax Optio W60 digital camera combines a ten megapixel CCD image sensor with a 5x optical zoom lens. The Pentax W60 has a compact, pocket-friendly body that’s waterproof up to 13 feet, and impressively the W60 can also be used in temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C). Changes from the W30 include the Pentax Optio W60 offering more zoom range in a slightly smaller and lighter body. There’s also more resolution, a higher-res LCD and more besides to be found in Pentax’s Optio W60.
The Pentax W60 ships in the US market from July 2008, priced at US$329.95.


Here’s another 8Mpix compact camera from Pentax, the V20. It features a 5x optical zoom, a 3” LCD, ISO ranging from 80 to 6400, face recognition, and TV out with Video VGA mode. It measures 97.54×56.5×23.5mm at 130g.

PENTAX unveiled its 10.2M digital SLR ‘K200D’ in US market, which is expected to be available in March.
Equipped with a high-performance 23.5mm x 15.7mm CCD image sensor, the K200D features a 2.7-inch 230,000 pixel LCD monitor, ISO 1600 and its original Shake Reduction(SR) system to reduce camera shake.

Optio V10 is the name of the upcoming Compact Digital Camera from Pentax.

Pentax has a couple of new digital cameras today, check it: the Z10 features an 8 megapixel CCD (up to ISO 2100), 7x zoom, and 52MB of internal memory. The S10 has a 10 megapixel CCD with up to 3x zoom, 22MB internal memory, and can shoot DivX MPEG-4 videos. Both share digital anti-shake, 2.5-inch LCDs, facial recognition, SDHC compatibility, $250 price tags, and September release dates.
